Using quick ring or gold skeleton sword you can get extra mp and max aspd early if you need. Shield skills boost the whole party's defense too and not just you. Well hope this gives you some new ideas I think allot of people forget combos and focus on auto attack which just doesnt work for some weapons. The combo system is key and building up a nice mp set with around 900-1000mp I can usually cast 2 to 3 astutes in a combo that has them set with smite thats usuly 2k-4.5k dmg per atk the rest of the combo goes hardhit (1k+ dmg)> astute (2k-4.5k dmg)> assault atk (knight skill that slows low dmg but mainly to absorb the effect added to astute)> triggerslash (1k-2k dmg and buffs mp regen) so thats the combo I use and it leaves me with mp regen buffed and the whole combo only uses about 300-400 mp while doing somewhere around 6-7k+ dmg now with combos at anypoint you can trigger the combo to start again from the 2nd skill which is astute so I can also chose to just spam astute followed by assault then astute need to do it like that while using smite as a add in on the combo or you would lower the next astute dmg so I let the low mp assault atk that slows absorb that then cast astute again its very possible to link 3 or 4 astutes doing this and each doing 2-4.5k dmg very possible to do 8k-16kdmg very quickly I would recommend heavy armor with a good hp stat like aqua garb. Pure str or allot of str then some dex or vit. Heres a 2hand that will out dps your dps build hands down always.
